NEWS: An Automated Solution for Home Support

The Background

In July 2015 the government introduced the new Commonwealth Home Support Programme [CHSP] as a means to bring together a number of existing government funded programmes under the one umbrella. All states and territories apart from Victoria and Western Australia, which are still governed under the HACC Programme, have adopted this new programme. 

The Changes

The e-Tools team recognised that home support providers under both structures would need a software programme to assist them to effectively and efficiently manage all of their data in one central location. Providers under the new CHSP legislation would now also need a programme to facilitate the upload of necessary data to the new DEX accurately and efficiently, preferably automatically, as this was expected to be a time consuming task. 

The Solution

The development team at e-Tools in conjunction with industry experts worked together to carefully design the new application so that it would be easy to use and navigate as well as assist with the overall management of the CHSP and HACC.

It became clear from the beginning that the key elements of this application would be the ability for Providers to plan, manage and deliver individual and group activities, as well as automatically transfer data direct to the DEX. In a time poor industry, it was obvious to all involved that providers would not have time to manually upload their data. 

The Result

electronic Home Support Programme (eHSP): Providers can use eHSP to plan, track and deliver individual and group activities, as well as upload their completed information to the DSS Data Exchange in one easy to use, central location.
