NEWS: Can your software manage every accommodation payment scenario?

NEWS: Can your software manage every accommodation payment scenario?

The introduction of the LLLB changes has meant a significant change to the way accommodation payments are negotiated and managed. Since July 2014 more aged care residents have been required to make some form of financial contribution towards their accommodation costs. More payments, more options and more calculations!

Is your software flexible and sophisticated enough to manage all the different payment options and choices now available to residents? Let’s consider just one scenario you could be faced with. Meet my resident Jack Combo. Jack has elected to pay for his $300,000 room using a combination payment of a $200,000 RAD and a $100,000 DAP, with a drawdown DAP from RAD.

Remember, in this example, the RAD portion was paid in full. If any RAD amount was outstanding, then your finance team would also need to calculate a DAP Charge on the outstanding amount. Another calculation and another charge that needs to be added to Jack’s bill!

This is just one of many scenarios aged care finance teams are faced with every day. If your software isn’t able to effectively manage all the options, then perhaps it’s time to consider a software solution that can? Accommodation payments are too important to your business to get them wrong.

Contact your e-Tools State Manager for more information on how we might be able to help you with an accommodation payment management solution.
